Fed: CASA sending investigative team to Ansett in Melbourne

The Civil Aviation and Safety Authority is forming a team of experts to investigate
Ansett operations in Melbourne.

The team will produce a report on the airline's safety by the end of January.

CASA will probe the airline's maintenance, safety and quality assurance systems following
last year's Boeing 767 controversy.

The airline will be questioned on the circumstances surrounding the grounding of several
767s on Christmas Eve last year.
